The events planned for this year include a great mix of education and fun. And as always, when you attend, you'll have the opportunity to connect with other hosta fans! We welcome and encourage you to provide your feedback and ideas for future programing. If you would like to share your suggestions for interesting speakers and activities, simply email us, or reach out to a Board Member.
NEHS Winter Meeting: Potluck Lunch and Speaker
Sunday, February 10, 2020
General Meeting at Noon (Management Committee meets @ 10:00)
Pot Luck, bring a dish (entre, salad or dessert) to share. Beverages will be provided.

than Hogarth. The topic is "Hostas Do Make You Friends."  Jonathan maintains the UK national collection of mini hosta. We are looking forward to learn what's happening across the pond with the ever popular mini hostas. This will be our first skype presentation!

Due to construction at Tower Hill, enter through the temporary entrance to the right of the usual main entrance or walk up the driveway and through the doors directly to Classroom C. Plan time before or after the meeting to view the Orchid Show in the Limonia.

As always, we have a fun raffle and copies of the 2020 calendars will be for sale.

NEHS Hosta Information Table at the Boston Flower Show
March 11-13, 2020  

The Boston Flower Show closed at 6:00 p.m. EDT on Friday, March 13, 2020. The show has been cancelled on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15.

NEHS hosts a hosta information table at the 2029 Boston Flower Show.  We will have several tables with printed information on hosta growing and care, the use hosta in the garden, as well as, pictures of different hosta varieties and a few plants. You are invited to answer attendees' questions about hosta and to share the joys of NEHS membership. Consider lending a hand during the days and times that NEHS will be at the show.We'll work in groups of two to five, so you'll never be alone. You will get to see the show and have some of your parking expenses covered.

CANCELLED - NEHS Spring Meeting, Photo Contest and Speaker
The meeting that was to be helpd Saturday, March 28, 2020, is cancelled. Stay healthy and take time to enjoy your family and garden.

Richard Merritt was to have spoken on 
“Organic Approach to Pest Control in the Garden.” We will rescheudle for a future date.  Meanhwile, check out Richard's web site, New Hampshire Hosta, at http://www.nhhostas.com, and view his helpful videos.
Elm Bank 'Gardeners' Fair' Plant Sale
Saturday, May 9, 2020    9 am to 3 pm
  
Presented by the Massachusetts Horticulture Society, the Gardener's Fair and Society Row Spring Plant Sale will be held at Elm Bank, 900 Washington St., Wellesley MA.  Qualifying NEHS members welcome to participate and sell plans. To qualify, you must attended a minimum of 2 NEHS meetings within a year.  Proceeds from plant sales: 10%  to NEHS, 10% to Mass Hort, and 80% to seller.

American Hosta Society Annual Convention

This year's AHS Convention "Hosta Vision" will be held at Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. The Minnesota Hosta Society hosts the 52nd annual AHS convention. www.HostaVision2020.com.​

HOSTA: Foliage for Every Garden
Friday, June 19 - Saturday, June 21, 2020

Discover the variety of shapes, colors, textures and sizes of hosta leaves by participating in our leaf show as an exhibitor or a guest. Enter your best hosta leaves from your garden in our leaf show. ​Set-up Friday and Saturday morning, judging and awards Saturday afternoon. See the Leaf Show page for details.

Mark Zillis (hosta hybridizer, author and recipient of the AHS 2001 Alex J. Summers Distinguished Merit Award) presents two different talks.

NEHS Members Summer Garden Tour and Picnic
Saturday, July 18, 2020
   
The Konings have invited us to tour and picnic their garden at Weston, MA. We will have details in the days to come.

Please bring a picnic dish to share and as always, we will be having a hosta auction and raffle. Donations for both are always welcome.

NEHS Annual Meeting:  Elections, Potluck Lunch and Speaker
