NEHS Annual Meeting, Elections and Speaker
October 24, 2026
SCHEDULE
12 Noon: Doors open. Help, as able, with set up of the room, socialize, have lunch (bring your own lunch and a dessert to share).
1:00 pm: Annual Meeting, Elections and Red Cup and Blue Cup drawings. (Bring an item, such as a plant or gently used garden books or gear to donate to the Red Cup drawing. The Society will purchase a special hosta from member-owned nurseries for the Blue Cup drawing.)
2:00 pm Program: Mark Zilis, noted hosta hybridizer and author, topic to be announced. His hosta introductions include ‘Appletini’, ‘Azuretini’, ‘California Gold Rush’, ‘Emerald Charger’, ‘Enterprise’, ‘Fall Dazzler’, ‘Frosted Mouse Ears’, ‘Holy Mouse Ears’, ‘Jabulani’, ‘Lemontini’, ‘Pineapple Upsidedown Cake’, ‘Powder Keg’, SILVER STAR (H. rectifolia ‘Ginbuchi Tachi’), ‘Smash Hit’, ‘Summer Breeze’, ‘Sumsational’, ‘Tidewater’, and ‘Victory’.

1:00 pm: Program: Hosta-palooza! Hosta terminology, jargon, and fun facts presented by members Paula Letohla and Tina Rufo.
2:15 pm: Business meeting and Red Cup winners announced

The 2027 AHS Convention, “Where Hosta, Music and Friends Meet!” is at Plainefield, Indiana. Visit the American Hosta Society Convention website for the most current information about the schedule, registration and events. Standard registration (until November 30, 2026) is $278 (includes two gift plants). Regular registration is $278 (includes one gift plant). Late registration (after May 1) is $300.
You are invited to enter hosta leaves, containers, arrangements and educational posters in the Hosta Show at the convention. It is easy and fun: learn how on our Hosta Show page.
